       Just starting out with your venture? Struggling through your first year of operation? Nothing is more helpful—and encouraging—than this 3-hour workshop. You will receive expert advice on all aspects of starting and operating your business: getting into the right mind set, differentiating your product or service in a competitive environment, promoting them with skillful (and cheap) guerilla marketing. Other topics: Legal business formation, financing, taxes.

Writing Effective and Useful Business Plans    Part 1
  
       Writing your business plan can be fun and exciting rather than tedious. Learn a simple process for "telling your business story"; the main components of a good business plan; positioning your product or service within your industry; reaching target customers with guerilla marketing methods; and how operations, marketing, and sales work together. You’ll hear about the choices available for legally forming your business: sole proprietorship, partnership, LLC, S or C Corporation. Workshop ends with completion of a draft outline of your business plan.

Writing Effective and Useful Business Plans, Part 2 - (Pre-requisite Part 1) 
      Students return with first draft of business plan. Instructor and student interaction will stimulate further creativity to help you complete a second draft of your business plan. Spend time listening to other crucial topics: How to apply for a loan; how to convince a bank underwriter to fund your business, and how to manage the loan prudently.
